Men United Peterhead is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, whose vision is:
“to promote and protect the mental health and wellbeing of men who are experiencing issues that are having a detrimental affect on their mental health and wellbeing by the provision of support and practical advice.”
This vision is simplified with the following mission statement: we are men united, stepping together from beneath the clouds of hopelessness towards futures filled with hope.
Men United Peterhead is a charity in Peterhead, Scotland, that has been established to challenge the stigma that surrounds men’s mental health and positively impact on the devastating consequences of poor emotional and mental health. The organisations achieves its aims in the following three ways:
i) Peer Support Groups ii) Mentoring iii) Motivational workshops and event speaking

Poor mental health has terminal consequences. The suicide statistics amongst men are tragic, ever growing and desperately need reversing. To play our part in challenging the status quo we have established the following (non exhaustive) list of initiatives:
– weekly peer support groups (in person/ virtually)
– social networking opportunities for men to stay connected
– a mentoring programme to place volunteers alongside men who are going through a tough time
– workshops based on our HEX Model

Post made with Michaels permission
Everyone meet Michael.
On Thursday he came to us and in his words he didn't see the point in life anymore.
He had a chat with the guys at our Thursday night meetings and today he turned up to help us with a community project to help PACT tidy up Victoria Park.
Not only has he realised that he can get through this rough patch he has helped sort out a few rough patches of grass too.
He also got a wee job volunteering to give him a purpose.
His advice to anyone struggling come chat to these guys it can change your life and that'd only been 3 days since I spoke up .
Well done Michael were so proud of you 👏 ... See MoreSee Less

Michael made the hardest, most important step: he spoke openly and honestly to others. The support received has helped him greatly. Take note all. Talk to each other. Don’t judge. Heart warming.

💯👏👏👏 fantastic marketing, fantastic organisation, keep up the good work!
I dont know who needs to hear this but...if you’re thinking about giving up, remember in 2 years you could be marrying someone you haven’t met yet.
In 2 years you could have a job at a company you haven’t heard of that makes you happy.
In 2 years you could be on your way to buying a home you never thought you could afford.
In 2 seconds could be happy again.
In 20 years you could be watching your kids growing up. But you’ll never know unless you get there. If you want to give up don’t.
Take a nap. Gather yourself and remember it’s a bad time not a bad life, you’ll get through this.
We are here to help ... See MoreSee Less
